2009 - A Year of Change

This past year was difficult one for our family.  We lost a beloved father-in-law and grandpa in June.  It's been difficult to adjust to life without him.  Then even before we started to recover from that tragedy, my father was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and that battle is still ongoing.  He begins radiation next week.  Between these two major life events, the everyday things were still going on.  The homeschool schedule was interrupted a lot and it took a lot of effort to catch up.  Finances grew worrisome and so we made the decision that I would return to work part-time.  For the most part that has worked out well but other parts of life have become more rushed and hectic as a result.  Then the holidays came and since we were not wanting to increase our debt load, I handmade most of the gifts we gave and that took every spare moment.

I was shocked that I haven't posted since the end of October but in reality, I've been busy from the time I wake up until I fall into bed at night for months now but hopefully things will slow down a bit and I can get back to a more regular posting schedule.

Many happy blessings are wished for you all in the New Year!
